How did it all begin?
Let's make a simple timeline to break things down for you ;)
2015: MacKenzie opened Wild Rose in our parent's basement + had an Etsy shop / attend local vendor shows as pop-ups.
2016: Expanded to a storefront (The Southern Rose) in Columbia, MO!
2017: Added an e-commerce website (finally)!
2019: Opened Rosebuds (a children's store) in the space next to TSR.
2020: WE ALL KNOW WHAT HAPPENED THEN. But....Rosebuds made it online ;) And....it was our first 'taste' of online only sales. Was it tough? Absolutely yes. Was it sweet, too? Also yes. We got to spend so much time with Knox (1) + really saw what the time freedom could allow for.
2021: Started wholesaling our custom creations + began work on manufacturing for our new children's brand....
2022: Launched To the Moon Childrens!
2024: Our commercial lease ended in November….so early in the year, we explored options to find a new location (after 8 years renting in a commercial space, we wanted something with a more personal feel). In full transparency, we found one we LOVED but the size and overhead was TERRIFYING and we knew we were wanting an ‘escape’ to feel less trapped by the expenses (!!!). We ultimately decided it would add MORE stress to go bigger….and decided to move online only when our lease ended.
2025: We had operated online only for a bit and knew we needed a warehouse or office to really be productive and organized….when we found *the spot* you guys will come to love!! 😉 It wasn’t on our BINGO card necessarily but after weighing out our options, we decided we would make it work as a glorified warehouse / office. It’s in a great shopping center with AMAZING owners (that care!!!!) and we are SO excited for what we’ll do and how we’ll grow in those walls. We can’t wait for you to see it!
We spent the last few months working through construction on our new space, re-branding to be Emby Goods (let's just say it was TIME to let go of the old name for many reasons), and curating the collections headed your way. It's been a whirlwind balancing a baby at home a few days a week, school-aged kids, a household, and ALL THE THINGS that go hand in hand with re-branding (did you know we spent over $1k on new marketing materials for packaging your orders up?!) -- small business isn't for the weary! ;) But, we truly LOVE serving you guys + bringing you in the best apparel, accessories, gifts, and so much more!!
What’s the ‘other brand’ you guys have mentioned?
Well…. We’re announcing that FUN and EXCITING brand SOON and we KNOW you will love it! If you’ve been around a while, you watched as we slowly turned into *the* spot for gameday and let’s just say this will be BIGGER and BETTER than ever before!! Details soon, friends!
